'If It's Football, It's Vital'

One Last PushTo Save Boro

We travel to East London on Sunday to face West Ham hoping for a convincing win which would give us a great chance of surviving the drop.

The players will be giving their all to get a win at Upton Park - they know they still have a chance of beating the drop to the Championship.

We proved last week we have enough about us to cause West Ham problems, I just hope we have one of our better days in front of goal.

Who will start on Sunday?

Gareth Southgate needs to win the game - simple! He needs a team that can get at West Ham early on. I think he got it spot on last weekend against Villa. We were all over the opposition in the first half, but the only thing that let us down was our finishing.

I am predicting a similar team to the one that started the game last week with exception for Downing's replacement which will probably be Jeremie Aliadiere.

Possible XI: Jones, Bates, Huth, Wheater, Hoyte, Aliadiere, O'Neil, Arca, Johnson, Emnes, Tuncay

As fans we can only do so much in the stands. All I will say is we need to be as vocal as possible in the away end and cheer every tackle and forward run. Let's get behind the lads for the final time this season and hopefully it will be a day to remember - for all the good reasons!

What are the chances of pulling a game like last years demolition of City out of the bag?Best of luck anyways.
CoxintheBox
newcastle to loose we really need man united to put at least 2 on hull- best case scenario is if man united score early, then hull will be chasing the game and they can hit hard on the counter attack. As for us well we just have to win by as many as we can really

Chances of thrashing West Ham are very slim. We need early goals for that to happen. Cheers fella!
TheSlaven
sorry lads, I think its adios!

COYB send the kittens and the barcodes down!! Anyway best of luck!!
Lily_White
good luck with it, but the goal difference isn't a positive for you.

From us at Pompey, sorry to see you go, hope you get back soon. Very chuffed that the mighty gerordie nation is crying in it's beer.

BOOM! GAME OVER! Unlucky guys, we'll take Johnson off your hands to the Bridge, and Turnball - not that he's good enough for our sub bench!

no plastic supporters welcome here haigh for 7

Good luck in the Championship.

Well i'm glad to welcome Middlesbrough to the Championship. Poorly supported teams deserve to be in the championship. And before any boro fans say Wednesday only average 21,000 they havent been in the Premiership since 2000! I do feel more sympathy for your dearest cousins on the Tyne though....think they could just be on loan to the Championship unlike your dear selves who could be doing a Wednesday! See you at Hillsborough next season with your 400 adoring fans.

I just hope Gibson sacks Southgate. He was given enough time and patience.
Vartkes
haigh, i can't believe you're gloating. what on earth for except to be tacky and give us Chelsea supporters a bad rep? well done. boro fans: best of luck in the championship. it was a dismal season for you but if you look at it as an opportunity to rebuild and to correct some big mistakes made along the way, then you'll get through the disappointment well enough. best of luck.
RadioactiveD
Lol, I'm only joking, I actually always liked Boro and considering their fans were always on our side - particually after the Barca incident - I must say that I wish them well in the Champ! I would also like to say that I hope Southgate keeps his job! If we know anything, its that changing your manager every season aint to good for the club! Best of luck fellors - I really mean it - see you in two years!
haigh_for_7
Don't be having a pop at Boro fans about poor support jswfc and then try to justify your own lack with crap cos it makes you look a****, also don't waste sympathy on the barcodes cos they like us were just not good enough. But to all the fans who wish us well next season many thanks.
sixpot
Poorly supported club! What a joke "johnswfc". 140,000 people live in Middlesbrough and 25,000 of those peeps go to Boro games (average) SW 530,000 people live in Sheffield and yes before you spill your guts 'johnswfc' there are two teams in Sheffield so I'll half that population for you/ So out of 265,000 people only 21,000 people support your team. Do the math - and forget about a comeback!!
TheSlaven
Cheers for all the comments about next season guys. Good luck to everyone!
