Boro boss seeks durability
Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has said that his team must be far more durable next season.
Boro used an incredible 38 players last term - the highest in the division - with a succession of changes for one reason or another only heightening their lack of stability on the pitch.
That led to just four members of their squad, namely David Wheater, Rhys Williams, Gary O`Neil and Julio Arca, reaching 25 starts for the campaign.
"I need to make the team more durable," Strachan told the Evening Gazette. "When you think we have had only four players playing more than 25 games, that`s quite astonishing.
"Obviously there are reasons why we have had to use so many players and why few of them have played a lot of games," he added. "We`ve had horrendous injuries, worse than I have ever experienced anywhere before.
"I`m sure there will be more changes here this summer. That`s what we are trying to do.
"And once we`ve done that, one of the things I am looking for next season is for us to be more stable."
