Boro enter Lions Den

Following their blank weekend due to their opponents being in FA Cup action, Middlesbrough are at the New Den tonight taking on Millwall.

The visitors are boosted by the return of midfielder Barry Robson after suspension, although he will need checking on to decide if his severely bruised hand has sufficiently recovered. That could be a timely boost as Scottish international Kevin Thomson begins a two-mach ban following his sending-off against Nottingham Forest.

Merouane Zemmama is also back training after undergoing recent surgery on a hernia but won't be considered while both Danny Coyne and Scott McDonald are definitely still out.

"You have to be in there to feel the ferocity from the terraces and how passionate their supporters are for their team," manager Tony Mowbray told Boro's official website. "The crowd are right in your face but you know that's coming and that their team will be driven on by that vocal support. You have to match that first and foremost and hope you have some individuals with the talent to help you ask questions of them and win the day."

Millwall went out of the FA Cup to Bolton Wanderers at the weekend and have concerns over goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall, who is struggling with an ankle injury.

Otherwise, Tamika Mkandawire (knee) and Therry Racon (ankle) remain sidelined but Jimmy Abdou returns.
