No mistake next time - Williams

Australian midfielder Rhys Williams reckons Middlesbrough should be a much different proposition next season.

Boro eventually missed out on the play-offs after being in early contention for an automatic promotion place and the 23-year-old international says there must be no similar mistake next time.

"We set ourselves high standards in the first part of the season and we shouldn't have been in a position where we were battling away just to get into the play-offs, Williams told the Evening Gazette. "Next season we'll be a lot smarter and wiser as to how we need to perform to get where we want to be and then stay there.

"Everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I'm no different," he added. "I'm very ambitious and winning promotion with Boro would be a very special achievement, so hopefully I can be part of that."
