New signing targets top return
First summer signing Grant Leadbitter is targeting a Premier League return with Middlesbrough.
The 26-year-old former Sunderland midfielder has arrived on a three-year contract from Championship rivals Ipswich Town. He is expected to be the first of several new faces as Boro manager Tony Mowbray searches for increased options at the Riverside.
"I'm really pleased to be here at such a good club. When you enjoy your football, you know you're playing well and I just want to enjoy it, play well and get promoted," Leadbitter told the Northern Echo. "It's a good club, with a good manager and a team who play the game the right way.
"It's exciting. When I grew up Middlesbrough was a big club and it's still a massive club now," he continued. "I'm pleased with the way things have worked out."
Meanwhile, Boro are still being linked with a number of other players, including Jacob Butterfield, Emmanuel Ledesma and Mustapha Carayol.
