Hopes improve over Boro target
Middlesbrough's hopes of signing George Friend from Doncaster Rovers would appear to have been increased.
That follows Rovers confirming they will listen to offers for any of their current squad following relegation last term - which is likely to lose them somewhere in the region of 60% in terms of overall income.
Friend, 24, is capable in a number of roles and can play full-back or centre-back and also take on the holding midfield position.
He originally joined Rovers after being released by Wolverhampton Wanderers a couple of years ago, and agreed a new deal only last summer to keep him at the club until June 2013.
