Boro could turn to former defender
Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray could turn to former defender Stuart Parnaby to fill their problematic right-back role.
Both Tony McMahon and Justin Hoyte are out of contract this weekend after sharing duties there last season and neither is said to be close to re-signing at the Riverside.
Meanwhile, Parnaby has been without a club since his contract ended at Birmingham City twelve months ago. He since kept himself in shape by training with the Boro senior squad at Rockliffe Park whilst declining approaches from Leeds United, Millwall and Carlisle United.
The 29-year-old originally progressed through the ranks at Boro and made 91 senior appearances until leaving for Birmingham under the freedom of contract five years ago.
