Boro could turn to ex-Pompey keeper
Middlesbrough have been linked with former Portsmouth goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown. The 31-year-old is currently without a club and available as a free agent.
Boro are busily searching for a replacement for Welsh international Danny Coyne after being released at the end of last season.
Swiss keeper Jayson Leutwiler, 22, is the latest to have been on trial at the Riverside, while both Jason Steele and Connor Ripley have international commitments at present.
Steele is away at a Team GB training camp and Ripley a member of the England Under-19 squad taking on Greece in a European Championship semi-final in Estonia, today.
