Mowbray hails signing
Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray hailed the re-signing of out-of-contract defender Justin Hoyte.
The 27-year-old finally agreed a two-year deal this week following lengthy discussions. He was a regular last season with 44 appearances as Boro narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
"I think Justin Hoyte's athleticism and speed is a thing our team will require as the season unfolds," Mowbray told the Evening Gazette. "It's a fantastic deal for the club, I would say, in context of what Justin cost our football club over the last four years.
"In my opinion it's a great deal for the club and hopefully Justin can play his part in helping Middlesbrough being successful," he added.
Hoyte has made over a hundred appearances for the club since joining from Arsenal four years ago.
