Boro ready for Bury gig
Middlesbrough travel to League One hosts Bury to open their campaign in the Capital One Cup this weekend.
Boro manager Tony Mowbray is set to award second debuts to defensive duo Jonathan Woodgate and Stuart Parnaby following their recent returns to the club.
The visitors currently have doubts over the availabilities of Seb Hines, Joe Bennett and Faris Haroun, while midfielder Julio Arca and striker Lukas Jutkiewicz are definitely out.
"In my mind this is a game we go to win," manager Tony Mowbray told Boro's official website. "We have six games in a short period of time, but hopefully it's a sprint start. We need to be ready."
Bury have been shaken by the departure this week of manager Richie Barker to Crawley Town and have caretaker boss Peter Shirtliff in charge for the game.
Meanwhile, out on the pitch, Adam Lockwood, Craig Jones and Marcus Marshall are all in line for debuts.
