Give us time says Mowbray

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray says his new team must be given more time following their opening 2-1 Capital One Cup victory at Bury.

Marvin Emnes and Emmanuel Ledesma, one of five new signings on display, were both on target to earn the visitors a place in the next round of the competition. But Mowbray was quick to highlight that his current group are still getting used to one another.

"It was a new team. There were five or six new players out there, it was a new team on the pitch, so it can take time," he told the Northern Echo. "But there were some pleasing signs.

"At 2-0 it was disappointing to give Bury such a basic goal," Mowbray added. "But we did a number of things OK and we have to remember this is a new group."
