Pride of skipper
Rhys Williams says he would like nothing better than to lead Middlesbrough back into the Premier League.
The Australian international has recently been appointed as new skipper at the Riverside and completed his first game in the role in the weekend Capital One Cup victory at Bury.
"It was a proud day for me when the manager asked me to be captain," he told the Northern Echo. "I will wear it with pride and I will try to bring the lads through with me. I am delighted to have been asked. It was a proud day and now I just want to take this club back up."
Williams, 24, is in his eighth year with Boro and is the current longest serving player for the club, with defender Seb Hines narrowly behind.
