Dutch trialist on target
Dutch winger Romeo Castelen boosted his chances of a Middlesbrough deal by scoring during a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old was on target as Boro were defeated 2-1 by Carlisle United at Rockliffe Park.
He had already appeared in earlier pre-season friendlies against Hartlepool United and Carlisle.
The Cumbrians were initially helped by an own-goal before Castelan levelled from a Merouane Zemmama free-kick delivery. Dave Symington later struck the winner for the visitors from another set-piece.
