No move on striker

Premier League Swansea City's interest in Middlesbrough striker Marvin Emnes would appear to be cooling following months of interest.

Their manager Michael Laudrup was expected to step up his pursuit of the Dutchman after Scott Sinclair completed an £8m move to champions Manchester City. However, the Swans are now said to be targeting Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez.

Meanwhile, Boro chief Tony Mowbray was not expecting any further moves on transfer deadline day following the earlier sale of defender Joe Bennett to Aston Villa.

"The phone has to be ringing for Marvin, a few weeks ago there were enquiries but there has been nothing since," he told the Northern Echo. "I'm not anticipating any late calls unless that's a tactic from certain clubs.

"I don't think we're going to sign anyone," Mowbray added. "My job is to make sure all angles are covered, if something dramatic happens today that is right for us, we have targets to look at and utilise any money that may come in. If nothing happens I don't think that will be happening."
