'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Signs good but no rush

Striker Lukas Jutkiewicz won't be rushed back into action despite a goalscoring return earlier this week.

The former Coventry City marksman was on target with the only goal against Hull City for Boro's development side. He only moved to the Riverside in January but required knee surgery after suffering injury early in pre-season.

"He scored, which will be great for his confidence," manager Tony Mowbray told the Northern Echo. "I think they're always in a hurry to get back. He's such a good individual and good personality that he's desperate to help and get back in and be part of the squad.

'I'm delighted he got that under his belt and scored a goal," he added. "He's working very hard in training and he'll have a full week's build up next week with the squad and there's every chance he will be in the squad next week."

Boro have a free weekend with the international break before next facing Ipswich Town in the Championship.
