Great to be back says striker

Striker Lukas Jutkiewicz says he's fit and ready to return for Middlesbrough after being out of action since the end of last season.

The 23-year-old netted the winner on his comeback during the recent Under-21 friendly against Hull City at Rockliffe Park.

That followed an operation to clean out the cartilage in his right knee during the summer, which had since restricted him to the sidelines.

"It was brilliant to be back," the former Coventry City striker told Boro's official website. "It was my first match since the Watford game at the end of last season, so it's been about four months since I played a competitive game.

"Even though it was an Under-21 friendly, it was good to be able to play and score a goal," he added. "I've been itching to get back and I really enjoyed it."
