Nothing to prove says Boro defender

Defender Justin Hoyte believes he doesn't really have anything to prove at Middlesbrough.

The former Arsenal full-back was re-signed by the Teessiders last month following his previous deal coming to an end at the start of July.

Hoyte had already been with the club for four years before finally accepting what are understood to be significantly reduced terms.

"I don't think I've got anything to prove really," Hoyte told the Evening Gazette. "At the end of the day, from my point of view it's a case of giving back to the manager the faith he's shown in me.

"Last season I played most of the games I was available for so I don't think I've got anything to prove," he added. "It's for me to go out and play football the way I know how to play and hopefully that will bring success to the club and success to me personally."
