Skipper operation a success
Skipper Rhys Williams has undergone surgery on his ankle injury suffered against Gillingham in the Capital One Cup last month.
The operation has already been declared as a success for the Australian international with no further complications arising.
It was originally assessed the 24-year-old would be out of action until Christmas and at this stage that would still appear to be the case.
Boro have since responded by bringing in Cameroon international and former Burnley and Reading defender Andre Bikey to challenge the likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Seb Hines and Stephen McManus at the back.
