Defender returns for Boro

Former England centre-back Jonathan Woodgate should be available for Middlesbrough's weekend visit to Brighton.

The 32-year-old has sat out the last couple of games with a hamstring injury but was expected to make his return at the Amex Stadium. He resumed training on Thursday and is set to travel south with the rest of the squad on Friday.

"Jonathan trained today just short of three weeks since he last played," manager Tony Mowbray told Boro's official website. "He was out there with his boots on so hopefully he'll be okay for the weekend."

Boro also have Ishmael Miller and Adam Reach back in training while Merouane Zemmama and Justin Hoyte should both return next week.

However, Rhys Williams, Mustapha Carayol and Lukas Jutkiewicz remain out and are joined on the sidelines by young forward Luke Williams with a slight hip problem.
