Arca latest casualty at Boro
Middlesbrough's Argentine midfielder Julio Arca has been ruled out for three months following surgery.
The 31-year-old has received treatment on his long-term toe injury and won't play again this year.
It's the latest in a list of fitness problems for manager Tony Mowbray, who is already without influential skipper Rhys Williams, Mustapha Carayol and Curtis Main until the New Year.
"Julio's had a problem with his toe since I've been here but it's got to a point where it's too painful to play," Mowbray told the Evening Gazette. "So we took the decision to get it done. He's had a procedure done to rectify the problem."
