Mowbray takes deserved award

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has been confirmed as Championship Manager of the Month for October.

Mowbray held off competition from Millwall's Kenny Jackett and Nottingham Forest's Sean O'Driscoll to deservedly take the award.

Boro managed five wins and a draw during the month and are currently sitting in second place in the table and just a point behind the leaders.

The Teessiders opened with a draw at home to Derby County before seeing-off Watford, Brighton, Hull City and Bolton Wanderers in the Championship, and neighbours Sunderland in the Capital One Cup.
