We will be okay says Mowbray

We will be okay says Mowbray

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray wasn't too downhearted after seeing his side's recent unbeaten run finally ended at Cardiff City.

A single goal eventually separated the two sides when Matthew Connolly headed in Peter Whittingham's nineteenth-minute corner.

That was enough for the hosts to move up to second in the table as their latest opponents slipped down a place.

"I thought we played pretty well," Mowbray told BBC Sport. "There is a long way to go in the rest of the season and if we perform like we did today for long spells then we will be okay.

"Cardiff are a resilient side who defended well and put their bodies on the line," he continued. "But the longer the game went on the chances came and went for us and, ultimately, we didn't manage to stick one in the back of the net."
