No major movement at Boro
Manager Tony Mowbray doesn't envisage any major changes to his squad at Middlesbrough in the January transfer window.
Mowbray remains happy with the levels reached so far despite missing a number of key performers this season. Boro currently sit fourth in the table and are also in the quarter-finals of the League Cup next week.
Injured trio Rhys Williams, Mustapha Carayol and Julio Arca have already sat out most of their campaign while both Jonathan Woodgate and Marvin Emnes continue to struggle with overall fitness.
"January's coming and my job is always to try and improve the squad, but no major surgery is needed," Mowbray told the Evening Gazette. "I'll try to improve bit by bit. If there's a player who hasn't played enough and is unhappy and wants to move and that creates a hole for us, then we'll try and fill it with a player who can affect our team.
"But let's just keep going and see what January brings," he continued. "I'm not sat thinking 'oh, we've got to get two or three players because we are short'."
