No shakes from Boro - Woodgate

Former England defender Jonathan Woodgate has denied that Middlesbrough's promotion challenge was showing signs of faltering.

Boro were eventually grateful to a late winner from substitute Ishmael Miller after conceding an early two-goal advantage at bottom club Peterborough United at the weekend.

That actually marked only their second win in five games while conceding eight goals in four of them.

"We're third in the table. Looking over the last 10 games we're not wobbling, no way," Woodgate told BBC Radio Tees. "It wasn't easy. We got off to a great start, lead 2-0 and they fought back to 2-2, but we dug deep. They may be bottom of the table but they didn't play like that.

"But you get games like that and at half-time the belief was still there we could get the victory," he admitted. "We played really well at Cardiff, got no points, played unbelievably well at Birmingham for 60 minutes, got no points, but scrapped it out here and got the three points."

The Teessiders next switch their attention to a Capital One Cup quarter-final at Swansea City on Wednesday evening.
