Clean slate for Boro defender
Middlesbrough defender Seb Hines says the weekend clean-sheet against Wolverhampton Wanderers has helped him move on from the disappointment of conceding a late own-goal in the recent Capital One Cup quarter-final defeat at Swansea City.
The 24-year-old glanced an unlucky header past his own goalkeeper with just under ten minutes remaining as the hosts claimed their first-ever semi-final place in the competition at the Liberty Stadium.
However, Boro returned to league matters at the weekend and this time it was them benefiting from a couple of even later goals at the expense of visitors Wolves.
"These things happen. As a defender, you're going to score an own goal," Hines told the Northern Echo. "If I had to defend that ball again I'd still put my head on it. It was disappointing it went in, but you have to bounce back and move on, and getting a clean sheet was a massive result for me."
