Boro always ready to move

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray might not be expecting any frantic transfer activity during the window - but he certainly wasn't ruling anything out.

Mowbray has previously indicated he was happy enough with his current squad at the Riverside as they continue to challenge for a return to the Premier League.

However, he equally has stated the importance of being ready should the right player suddenly become available.

"We have lists of players that potentially we'd like to sign," Mowbray told Boro's official website. "I talk to Steve [Gibson] on the phone a lot and if there's a player at the right price who we think can make a difference, he's never said there's no money available.

"And yet we don't want to sign players for the sake of it," he added. "It would only be someone who's a stick-on in the team, who can come in and play and who the guys who get left out will understand that this player is making a difference."
