Mowbray defends decision

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray defended the decision to proceed with game at Leicester City on Friday night.

Boro eventually lost out to a solitary goal after suffering a really difficult time travelling to the King Power Stadium.

The kick-off had to be delayed due to it taking Boro over two hours to travel the couple of miles from the team's hotel as a result of the bad weather conditions.

Meanwhile, fewer than nine thousand spectators attended the promotion clash even though over 19,000 tickets had originally been sold.

"I knew we were always going to get here, it was just a question of what time we were going to make it to the ground," Mowbray told the Northern Echo. "It took us two hours for a two-mile trip, but that's finished now and the football match is what was important.

"I thought it was a good game, wasn't it?," he continued. "It's not my decision [whether the match went ahead or not]. People can talk about it, but it's down to Leicester City and the police, it's their decision."
