Winger desperate to return

Winger desperate to return

Winger Mustapha Carayol simply can't wait to get back into action for Middlesbrough.

The 22-year-old has been patiently biding his time for the past four months following knee surgery but could return against Barnsley this coming weekend.

"I can't wait to get back. It has been a frustrating few months having to sit and watch," Carayol told the Evening Gazette. "It is my first real injury and it has been very difficult for me.

"But the gaffer has spoken to me every day, encouraged me and kept my spirits up and everyone - the staff, the players - has been really helpful and supportive," he added.

Carayol has scored twice in five senior appearances since arriving from Bristol Rovers last summer.
