Brazilian blend for Boro
Middlesbrough have formed an official link with Brazilian side Ituano, the club where Teesside legend Juninho is currently a president.
And as part of the arrangement the Championship promotion-chasers are to take nineteen-year-old pair Marcos Rhoden and Rafael Peireira on loan until the end of the season.
Boro previously had Carlos Rodrigo Correa and Eduardo Favretto on trial last summer following a recommendation from Juninho, who will continue to act as their representative in South America.
"I would have to say that Juninho's club aren't going to give us the next Neymar," manager Tony Mowbray told the Evening Gazette. "If they had the next Neymar he would be costing somebody £20m of £30m.
"They would not be letting us have two young players if they were going to help them win the league or lots of games," he added. "They are a couple of young players for whom it's an opportunity. We haven't scouted them. I'm not closing the door on anybody. But let's wait and see, I'm not going to pre-judge them."
