Boro can rediscover form - Halliday
Versatile Andy Halliday maintains that Middlesbrough can still rediscover their earlier season form.
Boro have won only twice in thirteen attempts in the league this year, which has seen them in turn falling out of the play-offs and now requiring to close a five-point gap on the top six.
But Scot Halliday, who recently agreed a new two-and-a-half-year deal with the club, believes his colleagues should draw upon their achievements from earlier this season over the remaining weeks of it.
"Maybe we were spoiled by the start we had to the season because the gaffer had very little to deal with and he managed to bring in a lot of quality players," Halliday told the Northern Echo. "They did the business at the start of the season. If we finished as well as we started then we would be going into these final eight games with a very positive attitude.
"We have got to try to find that sort of attitude again," he continued. "I still don't think we are that far away. Performances have been frustrating. Seven points from 39 is relegation form if anything, so we have to change that very quickly."
