Mowbray hopes to reward fans
Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray still hopes he can reward the loyalty of the supporters by giving them a successful end to their season.
Boro are currently five points outside the play-offs after experiencing a really difficult time since the start of the year while losing ten of their thirteen league games.
However, their supporters have continued to show faith and surprising restraint during games despite witnessing the recent slide down the table.
"The majority of fans will understand where we are," Mowbray told the Evening Gazette. "I know we built expectation earlier in the season by doing so well. And I think if the supporters thought the team weren't giving their best, then I would understand it if they gave the players a hard time.
"But that isn't the case and I think the fans realise that," he continued. "The time to boo the team is if you're not happy and if the fans boo us after a defeat we've got no problem with that."
