Boro ace unlikely to feature again

Boro ace unlikely to feature again

Attacking midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma's season would appear to finally be over at Middlesbrough due to an ongoing injury.

Manager Tony Mowbray doesn't anticipate the 24-year-old Argentinian playmaker turning out again this term after continuing to struggle with a troublesome ankle problem.

Ledesma had been a regular choice in the matchday squad following his arrival from Walsall last summer, at least until injury began to restrict his impact. He had previously netted three times in 32 games for the Teessiders.

"Manu's had a few aborted attempts at returning from the injury - the kid's desperate to play," Mowbray explained to the Evening Gazette. "It's ultimately been too sore when he's got his boots on and gone out on the training ground. He's had to come off and it looks like we're not going to see Manu again this season."
