Mixed emotions for Halliday
Middlesbrough utility man Andy Halliday has described a season of mixed emotions at the Riverside.
The 21-year-old has finally made his breakthrough into the senior side and was recently rewarded with a two-year contract extension.
Halliday originally joined the club from Livingston as an attacking wideman in the summer of 2010 but has since converted to left-back in the absence of George Friend. However, the Scot then witnessed Boro's top-six challenge faltering badly before once again falling short.
"I've managed to get some games under my belt this season so it's been a good year all round for me," Halliday told the Evening Gazette. "It's only my first year at full-back and I've learned a lot this season. I'm still learning new things about the position after every game.
"Individually I've been quite happy with my performances this season and thankfully I've been part of a few wins with the team," he added.
