'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Exit likely for midfielder

Midfielder Nicky Bailey's departure continues to appear increasingly likely after admitting there hasn't yet been any offer of a new contract at Middlesbrough.

The 28-year-old missed the weekend defeat at Sheffield Wednesday due to undergoing recent throat surgery, but has made over a hundred of appearances for the club since arriving from Charlton Athletic three years ago.

"I've never said I wanted to leave Middlesbrough," Bailey told SkySports. "I have not been offered anything at Middlesbrough. If I was to leave then I would have had a few good memories. It might be time to move on.

"I would consider a new contract. If it was right for me and the family then 100 per cent I would be there. Hopefully I will have something sorted soon," he added. "I'd be really happy to stay and helping Middlesbrough back in the Premier League but I suppose time will tell."

Boro manager Tony Mowbray is keen to move some players out in order to create increased room for manoeuvre in the market this summer.
