We'll be ready says Boro man

Defender George Friend has pledged that Middlesbrough will bounce straight back from their disappointing season.

The 25-year-old saw his side make a great start to the campaign and be well up with the challengers until falling away alarmingly in the New Year. Boro eventually finished well down in sixteenth place in the table.

"It's been hard to put a finger on why we fell away but we will be raring to go next season don't worry about that," Friend told the Evening Gazette. "We know what to do, what's required for next season.

"You've got to take the positives and the negatives and use them in a way that will help us," he added. "Missing out is a big negative, you can't hide it, but we`ll take stock and push on next season."
