Woodgate Slams Ex-Boro Boss!

Jonathan Woodgate has threw his thoughts into the David Beckham ring today, having a little pop at the ex-Middlesbrough boss in the process aswell.

Woodgate, who has five caps for England himself, thinks that leaving David Beckham out of the current England squad is wrong.

In an interview with BBC Radio Cleveland he said 'Steve has his thoughts about picking his team but I think it's wrong to leave David out.

'If you look at the last World Cup, England scored five goals, of which David scored three and set one up.'

'In my opinion Steve has made a mistake. David Beckham is an exceptional player, I still think he is.'

In his return to England to play for the might of Middlesbrough, he has once again come under the spot light as he puts himself up for a place in the England team. Surely though, speaking out against the manager isn`t the best way to go about it Jonathan?

'I need to show him I can play games and that Steve can trust me when he calls me up that I'm not going to get injured.

'If I need to play more games to get back into the reckoning, then that's the way it is.'

how on earth did becks score threeout of five goals. an own goal against paraguay. crouch and stevie against trinadad. cole and stevie against sweden. beckham against ecuador. That equals one goal in the whole world cup. Stupid middlesborough person. No offence intended.

How can you expect an England manager to pick a player that cant get into his club side.
