Boro visit the leaders
Revitalised Middlesbrough should find their recent improvement seriously tested at league leaders Leicester City this weekend.
Boro approach the clash with five victories in their last six league games and a recent surge into the top half of the table.
Winger Albert Adomah [ankle] faces a late fitness check for the visitors, who were hoping to complete a deal for on loan Spanish defender Daniel Ayala. His current arrangement ended on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Chelsea loan duo Kenneth Omeruo and Nathaniel Chalobah are still waiting for their chance.
"Daniel knows how important he is for the team but we won't do crazy things with any players," head coach Aitor Karanka told Boro's official website. "At the moment he's not available and for this Saturday, the club is working till the last second but I have other players who can play.
"He needs to think how important it is for him to play here, how much he's enjoyed it and how good it will be for him to stay here."
Leicester expect defender Ritchie De Laet to recover from hamstring trouble while striker Chris Wood is another with a similar complaint.
Elsewhere, Sean St Ledger [groin] and Tom Hopper [shin] both miss out.
