Defender set to return

Defender set to return

Nigerian international Kenneth Omeruo wants to return on loan to Middlesbrough.

The 20-year-old defender has lately been starring for his country in the World Cup in Brazil following a successful loan spell for Boro last season.

However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reckons another season of Championship football with the Teessiders can only help benefit his game.

"I hope that Ken is going to come here again because he has told me he wants to join us," Boro head coach Aitor Karanka told the Evening Gazette. "I was speaking with the player, the player wants to join us; Middlesbrough is speaking with Chelsea and I don't think we will have a problem with this.

"He wants to join us, Chelsea want him to come to us, I want him and for this reason I hope it is sorted as soon as possible."
