Xavier Set For Return From Drugs Ban
Abel Xavier is close to making his come back after being banned for 12 months after testing positive for a performance-enhancing steroid dianabol.
Xavier is close to signing a new deal at the Riverside which would see him return to the Premiership.
Boro boss Southgate revealed the details, 'He's getting stronger and I think it's a position where we need some cover.'
Southgate added: 'His experience and enthusiasm have been a real plus around the place. He's popular with the guys here and he's got a point to prove.'
He has played 2 games for the reserves and apparently is almost ready!
