Boro character praised

Head coach Aitor Karanka praised the fighting spirit of his Middlesbrough side following their 2-1 victory at Bolton Wanderers.

Boro were searching for a major boost after their unfortunate late weekend defeat at Leeds United but soon fell behind to Craig Davies' penalty.

However, Grant Leadbitter replied from the spot before half-time and in-form striker Kike later grabbed a winner.

"I'm very happy. It was a difficult game, but we showed what kind of team we are and when we fight like that we can do good things," Karanka told Boro's official website. "The spirit the team has on the pitch is excellent. We want to show everyone we have strong character."
