Midfielder staying confident

Midfielder staying confident

Midfielder Adam Clayton is confident that Middlesbrough can preserve their Premier League status.

Boro are now occupying a relegation place having gone ten league games without a victory, resulting in yesterday's dismissal of manager Aitor Karanka.

"We'll never give up," Clayton told BBC Tees prior to that departure. "We've been under the cosh a bit recently, from all angles, we'll come out fighting and we need to show that every week now from the end of the season.

"It is tough when you're losing games, but training has been good," he added. "If we can keep the confidence up, we can keep the belief and keep going."
