Middlesbrough v Burton Albion

Middlesbrough were looking to build upon their first win of the season when hosting Burton Albion at the Riverside this evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

Defender Daniel Ayala and new forward Martin Braithwaite both missed the narrow triumph over Sheffield United and are once again doubtful to face a side that have lost their opening couple of fixtures.

Latest recruit Lewis Baker came on as a substitute against the Blades following his loan arrival from Chelsea and may challenge for a start.

"Saturday's win was important for a number of reasons," manager Garry Monk told Boro's official website. "It was important for the players because they got the winning feeling again, and it was important for the club because there was a winless burden being carried. Now we have to move things forward and try and grow the confidence."

The Brewers are without Jackson Irvine after being sent-off against Hull City, while full-back Stephen Warnock is also set to miss out due to suffering a knock.

This is a match Borough should be looking at to get all three points.Burton did well last season to remain in the Championship despite being the bookies best bet for relegation. It's good to see teams like Burton in this league however this match will be incredibly hard for them. Again the bookies have them for relegation and they have not started well, still waiting to notch a point on the board,I would expect them to still be waiting after this game. Hope they then go on and have a good season.
