Key elements must improve admits boss
Manager Garry Monk admits "focus and application" are current issues at the Riverside.
That follows the Teessiders crashing 3-0 at home to Derby County in a really error-strewn performance last time out, where individual mistakes were to cost them dearly.
"We all feel frustrated," Monk told the Northern Echo. "We're making really avoidable mistakes that have led up to conceding goals, and we need to be more ruthless on front of goal too. That is what is holding us back.
"It's about focus and application, focusing on what you need to do in those moments," he added. "We're the best in the league in terms of our defensive shape and our set-up, but you can't have the lack of focus at crucial moments amongst that."
