Ayala In Team Of The Week (4/1/18)

Ayala In Team Of The Week (4/1/18)

Middlesbrough are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Daniel Ayala in the three two victory over Preston North End on New Year's Day at Deepdale was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Ayala was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'We continue the theme of defenders at the double with Middlesbrough`s Ayala, who netted twice in a 3-2 away victory over Preston North End. The Spaniard opened the scoring on 13 minutes, before netting what would prove to be the winner, as proceedings moved towards their conclusion.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Ayala for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the points.

Full Team:

Jordan Smith (Nottingham Forest), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Daniel Ayala (Middlesbrough), Ethan Pinnock (Barnsley), Robert Snodgrass (Aston Villa), Matt Bloomfield (Wycombe Wanderers), Tom Naylor (Burton Albion), Tom Pett (Stevenage), Kane Hemmings (Mansfield Town), Tom Eaves (Gillingham), Robbie Willmott (Newport County).

Manager Steve Cotterill (Birmingham City).
