Middlesbrough are back in league action with a visit from Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Teessiders are waiting on the availability of centre-back Daniel Ayala after a groin injury during their late weekend FA Cup defeat to Brighton.

Striker Rudy Gestede missed out with a slight knock and could return this time.

Atdhe Nuhiu struck twice for the visitors against Reading in their cup success and may continue, while George Boyd also netted and could be given a first league start since the opening month of the campaign.

Regular first-choice keeper Keiren Westwood [groin] is nearing a return but not quite yet, with Barry Bannan and Tom Lees both on the way back.
