Boro Target Joins Newcastle
Striker Alan Smith has today joined Newcastle.
Boss Gareth Southgate has made no secret that he was interested in signing the 26-year-old England international, but today Smith signed a five-year deal at rivals Newcastle.
Smith moves for £6 million and could make his debut along side former Leeds team Mark Viduka in a friendly against Italian giants Sampdoria on Sunday.

In fact i'm really worried, we've not impressed in pre season and we've not brought enough players in, and those that we have brought in, well, only Tuncay excites me to be honest.
