Middlesbrough 2 Brentford 2
Sat 30th Sep 3.00pm
Middlesbrough twice came from behind to rescue a point from Brentford at the Riverside.
The Bees enjoyed an interval advantage when Yoann Barbet headed in Ollie Watkins' free-kick as the half-hour approached.
However, Martin Braithwaite replied with his first goal for the club after the break; only for Watkins to quickly restore the away lead.
But Brazilian defender Fabio struck a second equaliser just four minutes later to therefore avoid consecutive home defeats.
The visitors had early calls for a penalty ignored, while Braithwaite proved wide from the edge of the opposite area.
Dutch winger Florian Jozefzoon was similarly off-target from an angle at the other end, before Watkins' free-kick was headed in by Barbet for the opening goal of the contest.
Boro introduced Ashley Fletcher for Adama Traore at the interval, although it took until midway through the second-half for Braithwaite to equalise from close-range.
They weren't level for long, though, and Watkins was offered a simple tap-in just a few minutes later following a low cross from the right.
Back came the hosts with midfielder Jonny Howson surging forward and allowing Fabio to convert from the edge of the six-yard box.
Brentford keeper Daniel Bentley later parried from Cyrus Christie while there were also unsuccessful home shouts for a penalty.
